I, Jaime Drozd, personally commit to the following:

Personal Commitment

I strive for intentionality in fostering a culture committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).  I personally pledge to:

  • Leverage my role as managing partner to embed DEI into all our policies and practices, including hiring, development, promotion, and compensation
  • Emphasize the importance of DEI to our lawyers and business professionals
  • Advocate actively for the success and advancement of underrepresented and marginalized groups
  • Meet with clients who share our commitment to DEI and explore opportunities to collaborate around this shared commitment
  • Participate actively on our firmwide Diversity Executive Council, which develops and guides DEI strategy at the firm
  • Collaborate closely with our Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer to advance our firmwide DEI efforts
  • Recognize and help others recognize that systemic challenges (including racism, sexism, and oppression) have created unequal playing fields and mitigate those challenges by acknowledging their impact on processes and decisions at the firm
  • Support meaningful progress in advancing women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, first generation professionals, and veterans into partnership and leadership roles at the firm

Organizational Commitment

At Davis Wright Tremaine, we seek to foster a culture where all talented individuals—including those from traditionally underrepresented communities in the legal profession—can have, and can see, paths to success.  Our vision is built on four pillars: Community, Growth, Education, and Engagement.  As a firm, we commit to advancing our four pillars:

  • Community: Fostering a culture that generates a sense of belonging, supports authenticity and intersectionality, and embraces and appreciates our differences
  • Growth: Building and recruiting a diverse pipeline of talent and ensuring our professionals have equitable access to opportunities, information, and leadership
  • Education: Generating opportunities to learn about DEI in order to elevate our individual and collective knowledge
  • Engagement: Collaborating with external stakeholders, including our clients, affinity bar organizations, other external diversity organizations, and the broader business and investment community
