Personal Commitment

  • We will leverage our leadership positions to reinforce DE&I as one of the core values of the Firm
  • We will focus on supporting and developing our lawyers and professional staff so that they continue to grow as professionals and are empowered to uphold and strengthen our core firm values
  • We will listen to assure that we are hearing the perspective of others
  • We will seek to create an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect, where our lawyers and professional staff feel connected and safe to share their opinions and ideas

Organizational Commitment

  • We will obtain quarterly data on firm demographic trends to help measure and identify opportunities and challenges
  • We will meet regularly with our Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and Diversity & Inclusion Committee to collaborate on opportunities and challenges
  • We will participate in and monitor our formal sponsorship programs, affinity groups and external initiatives
  • At least one of us will attend each firm-wide DE&I program, including by introducing speakers or moderating panels – to model the value of these programs by devoting our time to them
  • We will regularly devote significant time at policy committee and practice group leader meetings to DE&I recruiting, retention and advancement matters
  • We will ensure that diversity continues to be a key criteria in our lateral hiring strategy and seek opportunities to diversify our partnership through strategic lateral hires
  • We will implement the recommendations of the task force on issues affecting women
  • We will promote our diversity billable hour credit policy and recognize the important contributions of our colleagues in promoting DE&I
  • We will focus on DE&I matters in meetings with partners regarding key client relationships
  • We will continue to require our partners to discuss their DE&I contributions in their compensation memoranda
  • We will continue to refine our flexible work options policies, including our hybrid work policy, to allow for empowerment of our personnel in determining their work schedules
