Leaders at the Front: Better Than Before (Part 2)
Join Professor Kenji Yoshino, Chief Justice Earl Warren Professor of Constitutional Law at NYU School of Law, and David Glasgow, Executive Director of the Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, for a customized, interactive two-part webinar series to explore the evolving legal landscape for workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
The series will include a risk analysis of LCLD member pledges using case studies such as recruitment, promotion, employee resource groups, development programs for underrepresented cohorts, data collection, representation targets, and supplier diversity. It will also offer guidance on how DEI can be made better than before, leading to an era of renewal rather than an era of retreat.
Part 1: Thursday, March 7, 2024,
In this session, Yoshino and Glasgow briefly introduced the law of DEI and the impact of the Supreme Court’s affirmative action decision and its aftermath on workplace DEI efforts. They also provided a legal risk analysis using case studies drawn from LCLD Member pledges, including suggested adjustments to risky pledges.
Part 2: Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. ET
In this session, Yoshino and Glasgow will continue the legal risk analysis of LCLD Member pledges using more case studies, and offer an affirmative vision for how organizations can strengthen DEI work in the years ahead.
Please note: This event is open to Managing Partners and General Counsel of LCLD Member organizations. We hope that you will invite your DEI advisor to attend this webinar with you.
