Chicago Alumni | Verzuz Battle

Chicago Alumni, join us for our annual Verzuz battle, which is a musical competition where two artists or groups go head-to-head, showcasing their hits in a friendly rivalry.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Team Assignments: When you register, you will select your preferred musical genre (Hip Hop or Pop) and be assigned to a team. We will let you know which team you’re assigned to.
  2. Artist Selection: Once formed, each team will select an artist from their chosen genre. For example, the Hip Hop team might choose Kendrick Lamar, while the Pop team might go with Olivia Rodrigo.
  3. Battle Format: The battle takes place with each team presenting their chosen artist’s 3 hits (which will be played by a DJ) and using their lawyering skills to convince the audience that their artist is the best. This is your opportunity to showcase your exceptional track selection and hype skills!  No one is required or expected to sing during this competition.
  4. Judging: Audience vote decides the winner.
  5. Bragging Rights: The winning team earns bragging rights until the next battle!

It’s a fun and engaging way to connect, celebrate music, and enjoy some friendly competition. Who would you pick as your artist? Space is limited, so RSVP by Tuesday, February 18.

Special thank you to Reed Smith LLP and Jenner Block LLP for co-sponsoring this event.

If you have any questions on the event, please contact Chicago City Leads Ann Chen and Sam Kim.
